SUBBzero is a dynamic 9-piece jazz ensemble celebrated for its vibrant fusion of jazz-infused reggae, ska, and funk. Inspired by trailblazers such as Jazz Jamaica, The Skatalites, Gary Crosby, Bob Marley, Thelonious Monk, and Freddie Hubbard, the group crafts a sound that is both rooted in tradition and boldly forward-looking. Formed in 2007, SUBBzero has built a reputation for expressive compositions and high-energy live performances. The band has appeared at notable events including Jazz Jurassica (as Jazz Bab) in 2018, Swanage Jazz Festival in 2019, Stompin’ on the Quomps in 2019 and 2021, and The Big One Ska & Reggae Festival in 2023.
